As explained in earlier blog posts, per Section 252.363 of the Florida Statutes, the declaration of a state of emergency by the Governor tolls the period remaining to exercise rights under certain state and local permits and authorizations for the duration of the emergency plus an additional 6 months. Most recently, Governor Rick Scott extended the emergency declaration for the Zika virus an additional 60 days with Executive Order 16-288.  In the event that this emergency declaration is extended further, the executive order will likely occur around February 13, 2017.
