Mr. McCarthy is co-chair of the firm’s Litigation Department. His practice encompasses Medical Malpractice Defense, complex commercial litigation, trucking litigation, tort litigation, class actions, trials by civil jury, and professional malpractice. This includes defending Doctors and Hospitals, garbage truck and long haul trucking litigation, premises liability and products liability litigation, business torts, insurance coverage disputes, and personal injury. Mr. McCarthy has extensive trial experience, including jury and non-jury trials in state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations. He has successfully argued appeals before the Florida Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the First District Court of Appeals of Florida.
