JACKSONVILLE, Fla. , (July 25, 2014)– Founded during the 2006-2007 school year with significant support from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), the ACE Mentor Program of Northeast Florida (“ACE”), helps high school students explore potential careers in architecture, construction and engineering. Through the program, mentors from local industry professional firms meet with students for two hours once a week for 16 weeks. During these sessions, students work in teams to create practical solutions for “real-world” projects. It’s an effective way for students to experience the reality of what architects, contractors and engineers do during a typical working day.

Recently, ACE recognized a number of their students at an awards banquet held at the University of North Florida. Rogers Towers Shareholder and ACE Program Mentor, Amanda Baggett was on hand to present Orange Park High School student Zachary Goble with his scholarship award. Baggett and fellow Rogers Towers Shareholder, Sherri Worman , volunteer their time as ACE Mentors and encourage others in the legal community to do the same. “It is inspiring to see how passionate these kids are about their future careers and how dedicated they are to working as a team”, says Baggett , “It fills me with pride to be a positive influence on a young person’s career development. Knowing that their hard work results in scholarships makes the experience even more valuable.”
